About Us.
I am a fourth generation descendent of Italian immigrants. My great-great grandfather arrived in America on the Sicilian Prince in 1906. Soon after, he opened Sava’s Italian Bakery and Pastry Shop in Yonkers, NY.
Baking is in my soul and I love it. My earliest memories are being in the kitchen with my mom as she cooked.
As I got older, she’d share stories and recipes she’d been told when she was younger. I learned a lot about life and cooking in our kitchen.
I also learned the simple philosophy of a successful bakery according to Biagio Sava always use the freshest ingredients available; trust yourself, be creative, and always give your dough a pat and a few encouraging words.
At Laurel’s Dolce Vita we follow that simple philosophy not just because it works, but because it’s a family tradition.
